Pokemon Go has been out now for a little less than a week and it has already taken over the world... okay, maybe not, but it has become insanely popular in the few days that it has been available. When developing lessons, I try to consider what's going on in pop-culture, as well as what my particular students are interested in. Once Pokemon Go came out, I immediately started thinking of ways to use it in the classroom (as I'm sure many other teachers did).
One of the most difficult aspects of teaching with Office 365 was the inability to easily assign and collect homework assignments from students. That's why one of the most exciting recent announcements for teachers who use Office 365 is Microsoft Classroom. I used to teach with Google Classroom, but after using Microsoft Classroom for the last week, I'm excited to see that Microsoft has taken the "classroom" model to a whole new level.
Turning a Google Form into a quiz got much easier this week with the addition of quiz options! Now, with a few clicks of a button, your Google Form can be transformed into a self-grading assessment you can share with students as a formative assessment.

Have you ever played a Kahoot or Quizizz before? What about utilizing Padlet or Skype as your choice tool of communication? Better yet, have you dispersed information through a Smore or Thinglink? All of these tech tools can be really fun and educational for teachers to use in their classrooms, but usually teachers simply don't have time to sift through all of the tech tools out there to find the good ones. Dedicating time to teach each of these tools can be hard to schedule as well. I'm very aware of this time issue since our first PD sessions were already pretty booked with topics that had to be covered because this was our first year as a 1:1 school, Canvas LMS was new to us, and we had just migrated to Office 365.
